How to handle a pushy Goal Keeper in netball?
well I don't play netball, but I play basketball and other sports where you need body position. One thing I do, because I'm not particularly big or strong, is not to get into a 'wrestle' or body on body situation where they can out-muscle you. Keep moving around so they follow you and then lead to the ball. I point to where I want the ball passed to me so the passer knows to put it out in front of me. That way, I'm not in a fight for the position, rather it's getting to ball first. If you're attacking, your advantage is that they don't know where you're going next and if you're quick, they'll always be half a step or a step behind you. You can give them a small bump just before you lead off to meet the ball. If you're going to ball on your right, get them on your left side, then use your hip and shoulder to bump into them just before you lead to your right. You can push off them with your hands as well to give that half metre of space. Make the bump solid enough to make them transfer their weight away from you, but not too hard so that it's a foul. If you're in a wrestle for a position, you have to protect where the ball will land, or where you want to receive the ball. You have to keep your body between the 'drop zone' and your defender. Don't be in the drop zone, but protect it. Bend your knees a bit to get your gravity low, this makes it a bit harder for them to push you away. If you want to get a little dirty, you can drop a few elbows into their body while the ball is away from you and the ref isn't watching.
show them u wont handle it and u wont put up with that nd stand up for yourself it works
