How can i get fitter for my county netball tryouts?


I was asked to go to some auditions in a couple of months to get in county netball and I need to be really in shape for this. Anyone have any good workouts or things I could do? Thank you.


It depends how fit you are at the moment. I've done a few county trials and it's never been anything really bad. They usually just want to check you're not completely out of shape and can move around for 4 15 minute quarters :) I would do some longer jogs (about 20 minutes) to improve your general cardiovascular fitness and, depending on your position, some sprint training. Sprint for roughly 20-30m, then fully recover over about 30-45 seconds. Repeat this about 10 times. If you're worried about muscular strength then lunges are good for your legs and just practice throwing a netball to improve your arm strength. The coaches/scouts will be WAY more interested in your skills and game awareness than your fitness. They just want you to be fit enough to be able to demonstrate your maximum ability without getting tired out!
