How can i improve my netball skills?
I play netball twice a week and I want to improve.
hmm, you may play at a higher level than i do but i got really good at netball just by playing it. i took every opportunity to play. having someone who can catch hard passes and can throw hard also helps get them to teach you how to throw the ball really hard (if everyone else in you team can catch it works really well) i play wing defense so i just kinda try to look intimidating and elbow my player as much as possible....
if you want to improve your skills A lot then mainly you need to join a club and practise with other girls/boys regularly, which you may or may not do already. if you are any player on the court you need to have good ball handling skills. so what you do is get a ball stand in front of a wall. hold the ball in one hand out at shoulder height through it against the wall and catch it in your other hand, you can also do this with another person. this is called taps. if you are a shooter then do shooting practise a lot. shoot one hundred shots counting how many you get in (Count in 10's then right it down so you do not forget) then work out you percentage. if you find this easy then start doing it with your eyes closed, putting yourself off balance and any way that will put you off when shooting as you have to get used to people doing this to you. if you are a defender work on sprints and changing direction quickly. also work on Peripheral vision, so it is easier to watch the player that you are defending, and your balance for marking the ball. most of all you just have to enjoy netball and play in as many games as you can.
