Netball Positions 1. centre: starts with the ball in the centre, is allowed all over the court except the two goal rings at either end 2. Wing Attack: starts behind the line in the attacking third. It is allowed in the middle third, and the third it starts in. Not allowed in the goal circle. It's job is to get the ball from centre and get it to the goal circle. 3. Wing Defence: Allowed in the defence third and centre third. Starts behind line of defence third, only job is to stop Wing Attack getting the ball. 4. Goal Defence: defends Goal attack and any shots at goal or passes from centre. Is allowed in the middle third, defence third and goal ring. 5.Goal Attack: Starts on the same line as Wing Attack. Is allowed in the centre third, the attacking third, AND goal ring. It is allowed to shoot and help the goal shooter. 6. Goal Shooter: Is only allowed in one third. Including the ring. It supposed to shoot / set up most goals. Goal attack id supposed to be a back up mostly. 7. Goal Keeper: Defends the goal shooter, and defends shots at goal. Gets rebounds. Only allowed in the defence third / goal ring. Takes any passes which go out of court, etc. in it's area. I hope this helped. See below for a few helpful websites....
